The European Itinerary of Chocolate is a journey in Europe where people and tourists can have an experience across places and organizations making, selling and promoting chocolate, even in relationships with producers of Cacao and according to values of the European Union (respect for human dignity, liberty, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights).
The trademark “The Chocolate Way“ represents the European Itinerary of Chocolate and it identifies enterprises and organizations having quality chocolate as reference of their activity such as in production, culture, selling or promotion.
In order to enhance the cultural, social and historical presence of the cocoa and chocolate in Europe and highlight how they became part of the lifestyle and cultural identity of European territories, the present regulation describes the criteria for the issuing and use of the trademark “The Chocolate Way” to production enterprises, retails, restaurants, hotels public entities and other organisations, as a concrete qualification instrument of the economic, social and cultural systems.
