On October the 1st, The Chocolate Way, in full compliance with the principles inspiring the World Cocoa Day promoted by ICCO and the Académie Française du Chocolat, celebrated the EUROPEAN CHOCO DAY.
The first of October usually coincides with the beginning of the most important cocoa harvest of the year for countries producers and coincides with the resumption of the season of chocolate for the European countries. Our European Choco Day was a special day in which we celebrated the European quality chocolate that also respects the ethical values of Equity and Transparency of the cocoa trade.
For this The Chocolate Way presented its manifesto to spread awareness among producers and consumers of chocolate, and partners have promoted the subscription through multiple initiatives of Art, Culture, Education, tasting.
The Chocolate Way wants to thank all its partners for working with us and made possible the promotion and realization of this important event.
These are the most important events:
– The Laboratorio Chimico della Camera di Commercio di Torino promoted the Manifesto on the occasion of the Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre, which took place in Turin form September 22nd to 26th.
– Dulcinea Perugia organized guided tours, tastings and theoretical and practical lessons in its laboratory.
– The Museum of Chocolate of Modica has opened its doors and offered commemorative event bars for students of elementary and middle schools. The Mayor Ignazio Abbate for the occasion has stamped his mark on the first CHOCO TILE, a chocolate tile of Modica destined to mark the transition to the Chocolate Museum of Modica of great personalities.
The Prof. Grazia Dormiente, after the opening of the event by the Director of the Consorzio di Tutela del Cioccolato di Modica Nino Scivoletto and the greetings of the Commissioner of Culture Orazio Di Giacomo, entertained the students present explaining the reasons that underlie the European Choco Day. The Mayor then read and signed the Manifesto together with all those present.
– Choco Story has organized special tastings at the Museum of Brussels and Bruges.
